LASER OPERATOR: SECOND SHIFT

Direct Hire: FULL TIME / SECOND SHIFT (MON – THURS 3:15 p.m. – 1:45 a.m.)
TRAINING ON FIRST SHIFT: (MON – FRI 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for a few weeks.
EXPERIENCED, SKILLED and DEPENDABLE

REQUIRED:
Laser Operation experience; Minimum of 2 years
Maintain and Trouble Shoot (Amada) Lasers for Precision Custom fabrication
Physically able to manually offload materials; Pulling, pushing, grasping, metal products between 15-75 lbs. with regularity.

  • Automation experience preferred / but will train.
  • Punch experience preferred / but will train.
  • Familiarity with nesting desired.
  • Knowledgeable about changing lenses, and conducting routine preventive laser maintenance.
  • Programming / modifying downloaded programs.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret prints/drawings to fabricate parts.
  • Ability to identify metals such as cold rolled, galvanneal, stainless, aluminum, etc.
  • High attention to detail and safety.

EDUCATION:
High school or equivalent
Formal Laser training preferred but not required / On the job experience considered
Familiarity with ISO procedures /quality standards is beneficial.
Independence is necessary – as is the ability to work as a part of a team.
Standing, Sitting, Reaching, Bending, Stretching, Lifting to 75 lbs.
Pushing, Pulling, Fine tactical skills necessary.
Prefer candidates live in Columbus or surrounding areas.

PRESS BRAKE/Fab OPERATOR Second Shift

Second Shift Hours: Mon – Thursday 3:15 p.m.  – 1:45 a.m.  

Initial training could take place on:
^   FIRST SHIFT: Mon – Fri 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and/ or
^   SPLIT SHIFT Mon – Thursday 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

  • Supports various departments on shop floor including but not limited to: Fabrication, Hardware insertion, Assembly, etc.
  • OTJ + cross training provided
  • Will train and work in tandem with experienced and seasoned associates already on staff.

 Required Skill set for Brake Operators/Fabricators:
^ Ability to perform own set ups and operate our 85 – 175 ton CNC + ATC Amada + Toyokoki  Brakes (cannot be merely operators)
^ Top notch print reading and interpretation skills.
^Ability to work within tolerances of + .005 and ½ degree.
^ Able to accurately measure and record results of part dimensions + characteristics using calipers and mics.
^ Ability to adjust offsets.
^ Demonstrated detail orientation.
^ Work well independently and on a team in Job Shop environment.
^ Ability to follow and retain instructions.
^ Familiarity with ISO procedures /quality standards is beneficial.
^ Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, pull and push during course of a 10 hour shift.
^ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with regularity. (average parts run 2-15 lbs)

 Required General Fabrication skills:
^ Ability to learn Hardware insertion tasks.
^ Operate Finishing equipment such as a Fladder, Hand grinders, deburring equipment, etc.
^ 2-3 yrs. knowledge + experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment helpful

^ Mechanically inclined: able to use a variety of power/air and hand tools including rivet gun.
^ High attention to detail & fine tactical ability.
^ Pallet jack experience

All Ometek positions require:

WELDER: SECOND SHIFT

Direct hire: FULL  TIME

SECOND SHIFT HOURS : MONDAY – THURSDAY 3:15 P.M. – 1:45 A.M.
May initially train on First Shift approx 1 – 2 wks: First Shift hours: MON – FRI 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

SKILLED and DEPENDABLE                                   

REQUIRED:

  • TIG AND MIG welding experience; 5-7 years in relatable industry.
  • Proven proficiency and demonstrated skill in both TIG + MIG welding with a variety of metals; particularly Stainless down to 20 ga. (Average ga is 14-16.) and some Aluminum.
  • Experience with Modular Fixturing – 1 yr. minimum
  • Weld test / print test and interview required at time of interview. Candidate to supply helmet/gloves.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings and weld symbols.
    Willing and able to grind and polish, stud and spot weld as required.
  • Formal Welding School training

EDUCATION:
High school or equivalent with additional Formal Welding school training
Familiarity with ISO procedures /quality standards is beneficial.
Independence is necessary – as is the ability to work as a part of a team.
Standing, Sitting, Reaching, Bending, Stretching, Lifting to 75 lbs.
Pushing, Pulling, Fine tactical skills necessary.
Prefer candidates live in Columbus or surrounding areas.
Must have your own helmet and tools.
Familiarity with ISO helpful.

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY - 1ST SHIFT

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER – 1st  SHIFT                                            

  • Direct Hire  –  Full Time Position
  • 1st Shift hours: Mon – Friday 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Mechanical Assembly of a variety of simple to complex metal cabinetry to supply essential businesses. (not an “assembly line” environment)
  • OTJ training provided, specific to the product being assembled.
  • Will work in tandem with an experienced and seasoned Assembler already on staff.
  • Must be focused, driven to produce precise “show room quality” finished products.
  • Versatile, fast paced department requiring dependable and accountable team members who exhibit results that are consistently “a cut above” in accuracy & detail orientation.

REQUIRED:

^ 2-3 yrs. knowledge + experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
^ Ability to read and accurately interpret prints +/or schematics.

^ Mechanically inclined: demonstrated experience in ability to use a variety of power/air and hand    tools including riveting.
^ Ability to lift between to 10-75 lbs. with regularity.

^ Experience in application of the following: Silicone + Butyl Sealants; Gaskets etc.

^ Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, pull and push during course of an 8 hour shift.

^ High attention to detail & fine tactical ability.

^ Organizational skills.

^ Pallet jack experience
^ Ability to take direction; work independently as well as a part of a team.

^ Contribute to team dynamics, offering solutions to move projects forward.

PREFERRED:
^ Job Shop experience.

^ Previous Metal or Fabrication experience on any of the following is helpful: hardware insertion,    deburring, finishing, Press Brakes, stud/spot welding, powder, paint prep., etc.

^ Knowledge of / experience with ISO standards and procedures.

^ Computer experience (Word/Excel, business software system).
^  Forklift experience helpful but not required.

^  Candidate lives in Columbus or surrounding areas with own reliable transportation.

Important to note:  This Position varies in assignment based on the needs of the business: so, no day is exactly the same. We operate in a production environment and due to the nature of our business, we require someone who is very dependable, physically fit, focused and able to work independently as well as take direction. Position is physical in nature and requires agility.
